Psalm 119:11 says, "Thy word I have treasured in my heart, That I may not sin against Thee." (NASB) It's important to remember that our best defense against the wiles of enemy and the lusts of our flesh is the Word of God. What better way to prepare for the moment of temptation than to have scripture verses in areas where we are weak already memorized and at the ready? Here are some suggested scripture verses to memorize for various topics.

Brotherly Love

A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. John 13:34-35

This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. John 15:12

These things I command you, so that you will love one another. John 15:17

Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honor. Romans 12:10

Live in harmony with one another. Do not be haughty, but associate with the lowly. Never be wise in your own sight. Romans 12:16

May the God of endurance and encouragement grant you to live in such harmony with one another, in accord with Christ Jesus, that together you may with one voice glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore welcome one another as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God. Romans 15:5-7

Exodus 10:3 Moses and Aaron went to Pharaoh and said to him, "Thus says the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, 'How long will you refuse to humble yourself before Me? Let My people go, that they may serve Me'"

Deuteronomy 8:2 - 3 "You shall remember all the way which the LORD your God has led you in the wilderness these forty years, that He might humble you, testing you, to know what was in your heart, whether you would keep His commandments or not. 3"He humbled you and let you be hungry, and fed you with manna which you did not know, nor did your fathers know, that He might make you understand that man does not live by bread alone, but man lives by everything that proceeds out of the mouth of the LORD."
