How the 23rd Psalm might have gone if the Israelites had been more into dogs:
Because the Lord is my master all my needs are met.
He makes me lie down on a comfy bed and
He fills my water dish with purified water.
It makes me glad to be alive just to see him.
He gives me motivation to obey him because
I wear his name on my collar.
Even when I walk down the alley behind the dog pound
I am fearless because you are with me;
Your training collar and leash comfort me.
You fill my food dish to overflowing
where the bad dog from next door can see it.
You put flea ointment on my head.
I am confident of your goodness and mercy
for the rest of my life and that
I will live inside your house forever.
